Connecting Your Smart Basketball
To connect your ball, first ensure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned ON. This option is typically found in your phone’s settings. (We also recommend putting your phone on airplane mode to limit unwanted Bluetooth traffic and prevent incoming texts and calls from interrupting your shooting session.) From the home page on the Spalding TF DNA app, you’ll have options for Solo, Casual, etc. If you select Solo, you can choose Shootaround or Freethrow. After selecting, you’ll be prompted to “Connect your ball to start the session.” To do this, spin the ball aggressively backwards in the air to “wake the sensor up” and connect it to your phone via Bluetooth. Once connected, you’ll hear an audio cue, followed by a whistle, and a screen will display all the available data points for each shot. From this point, you can take a shot and receive real-time feedback on every shot you take!
