Buy a better quality system

This system utilizes a sleeve system that is made out of plastic and it wobbles really bad especially with a 60" sail (backboard) at the top of the pole. I'm very upset with the quality. Design flaw

This hoop includes a breakaway rim and adjustable height but states it is not for dunking. The rim is connected with 4 metal tubes with bolts passing through them if one of these metal tubs ever shifts and just touches the glass, the whole backboard shatters. in these areas so metal would not touch glass. The crank also struggles with the weight of the backboard. Great if you put it at 10 feet and leave it and never dunk on it. Otherwise, you will have issues. Read Less

Backboard is disappointing - shattered in first few months

Poor Customer Service

I have been getting the runaround from customer service for weeks. I have asked for a supervisor to call me and they will not, I filed a claim with the BBB, and the response they sent back left most of the story out. I hung up on a customer service representative. When I informed them that I didn't just hang up, after they put me on hold for 15 minutes with no warning, I told them that I needed their supervisor to call me back. After much back and forth, they said they would, and I said I'm getting off of the phone now, and hung up. Spalding has had zero accountability for all of this. My goal broke during construction, after following the advice of a Spalding representative when I called in, the customer service I received was misleading, originally I was told new poles would be in within 30 days, but during this chat it got pushed to June, and then I was told that receiving the poles wasn't an option by another rep. The three options I have been give are to receive a refund (which I was told would take 8-12 weeks), get a goal with a smaller backboard, or pay an upcharge for a goal with the same size backboard as the one we purchased. If I hadn't been treated so poorly but Spalding customer service I would have happily paid the upcharge but I don't think any company that cares about their consumers would even dream of doing this. Why can't I get someone on the phone who isn't hateful? Why is customer service so hard for Spalding to achieve? I have never heard of a company refusing to call a customer. Not allowing me to talk to someone makes it appear like either 1. this request is not getting to the right person or 2. Spalding just doesn't care and is ok with sending misleading responses to the BBB and treating customers like garbage. Read Less

Photo copy your receipt.

Purchased this system nine years ago and the backboard shattered last month. Put in warranty claim and sent photos of it cemented in the ground and purchase date. The receipt from Dunhams is blank now from age. Told them about it and they refuse to warranty it without a dated receipt.

Backboard

This backboard is horrible. I purchased this basketball goal for my son back in Aug 2021. I have had the backboard replaced 3 times. All 3 times the backboard shattered from a simple jump shot or a free throw. I received the 3rd backboard back in May of this year. Now 6 months later it’s shattered again for the 4th time!!!!
