The Spalding TF DNA basketball will work indoors or outdoors on any regulation hoop with a net. The ball has a durable, water-resistant polyurethane cover that will maintain its playability on rough outdoor surfaces while remaining suitable for play on indoor hardwood surfaces.

A Size 6 (28.5”) basketball is recommended for female players of all ages and for male players age 12 and under.

No, Spalding TF DNA members can share a ball. Members can connect to any TF DNA ball in a shooting session and their shooting data will be captured in the Spalding TF DNA Basketball App.
To get the most out of the Spalding TF DNA basketball analytics, each shooter should have their own personal Spalding TF DNA membership.

Yes, a single shooter can connect multiple balls to the Spalding TF DNA Basketball App during a shooting session. Simply spin the first ball and, once it connects, spin the next ball and wait for it to connect. Continue this process to connect each additional ball.

Yes. The Spalding TF DNA app is free to download, but you must pay an annual membership fee to access your personalized shooting data.

Your purchase includes a prepaid annual Spalding TF DNA membership. A scratch off card is attached to the inside of the ball’s shipping box. To activate your prepaid membership, simply follow the following steps:

1. Scratch the card and reveal the unique membership QR Code.
2. Using the basketball shooter/app user’s mobile device, scan the QR Code.
3. Enter the shooter’s email address. The email address identifies the membership and will be used to log in to the Spalding TF DNA Basketball App.
4. Complete the checkout process. NOTE: you will be required to enter a credit card number to complete the checkout process, but you will not be charged until your membership renews. (You can cancel your membership any time prior to renewal.)
5. Download the Spalding TF DNA Basketball App, and choose LOGIN WITH EMAIL.
6. Enter the email that you provided in step 3 above, and login.

Open the Spalding TF DNA Basketball App and login. Choose your shooting mode and then hold the ball with both hands with the “Spalding” logo facing upward and toss it in front of you with maximum backspin. The ball will appear on your screen. Tap it to connect. NOTE: it may take more than one spinning toss to wake up a new basketball for the first time.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires parental consent for the collection of personal data of any Member under the age of 13. The Spalding TF DNA App will not allow you to enter the birthdate of a member under the age of 13 until we receive parental consent via the app.

Yes. To transfer the membership to another email address, open the Spalding TF DNA app and tap Profile and then tap Account. On the Account screen, tap Email, and you will be prompted to enter a new email address. Enter and confirm the new email address and tap Save New Email Address.
