Spalding Momentous EZ Assembly Voluntary Recall

Spalding and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are issuing a voluntary recall on the Momentous EZ Assembly Portable Basketball Hoop. We recently learned that welds in the boom arm attaching the backboard to the pole can fail and cause the backboard to fall, posing an impact injury hazard to consumers. All hoops were sold at Academy and Scheels stores nationwide and online at Spalding and Amazon.com from May 2021 through April 2022.

Why is Spalding recalling the Momentous EZ Assembly Portable Basketball Hoop?

We recently learned that welds in the arm attaching the backboard to the pole can fail and cause the backboard to fall, posing an impact injury hazard to consumers. Nothing is more important than the safety of our consumers, and we have worked in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to conduct a voluntary recall to repair the issue.
