VOLLEYBALL LEGEND KARCH KIRALY TO OPEN VOLLEYBALL ACADEMY IN 2007

Volleyball legend Karch Kiraly, considered by many to be the finest players in the game, will launch the Karch Kiraly Volleyball Academy in 2007 and will include an unprecedented coaching staff that has won 13 Olympic medals in both indoor and beach volleyball and almost 300 beach volleyball titles.

Spalding is proud to be the official volleyball of the Karch Kiraly Academy. All participants will play with the TF5000 volleyball, Spalding's top level leather indoor ball.

Karch Kiraly Volleyball Academy camps will be held this summer at the American Sports Centers, the current training home of the U. S. Men's National Team, in Anaheim, Calif., and a second camp will be held at a site to be determined in the eastern half of the country. Each five-day camp will be limited to 64 high school girls.

The intensive five-day elite player camps will feature an unprecedented student to coach ratio of only 8:1. As part of the program, participants also will receive video analysis, physical and mental preparation tips, detailed training reports, including daily progress reports from the coaching staff, and some valuable hands-on coaching from some of the world's greatest volleyball players. Each camp will conclude with an eight-team tournament where the participants get to apply what they have learned during the week.

Invitations to participate in the Karch Kiraly Volleyball Academy will be awarded to 128 high school girls and based on applications submitted to the Academy and reviewed by the coaching staff. For more information on the Academy or to obtain an application please visit http://www.karchacademy.com. Tuition for the five-day program is $2,450 per player and includes all on-court activities, coaches' analysis, film analysis, room and board, and an equipment and apparel package. Applications must be received by Feb. 28, 2007.
